Abacus Renewable Energy are committed to doing as much as we can to protect the environment.

To that end we have adopted a simple philosophy.

Reduce

  • We are always looking at ways of reducing our energy consumption both in the office and at home
  • We use low energy lighting.
  • We only half fill our vehicles with fuel, less weight less fuel consumption.
  • We check our tyre pressure regularly, correct tyre pressure equals better fuel economy.
  • We reuse old paperwork for notepads.
  • We have recently invested in a printer with a duplex facility to print on both sides thereby using less paper.
  • Every evening if an item can be turned off at the mains, it is.
  • We only print our emails if it is absolutely necessary.

Reuse

  • We will always reuse any item first before deciding if it can be recycled or disposed of.
  • All of our module mounting rails are measured and reused where possible
  • All of our off cuts of cable are measured and reused where possible
  • We reuse any packing materials that we receive.

Recycle

  • We will always recycle any item that we can including:
  • The wooden pallets that the modules are delivered on are either chopped up and used on our own wood burning stove or recycled.
  • All of the off cuts of cable and aluminium module rail that can't be reused.
  • All of the modules and inverter cardboard packing.
